Johnson & Johnson is recalling millions of 1 Day Acuvue contact lenses sold in more than two dozen countries in Europe and Asia because of complaints by Japanese customers that they felt a sting or pain when inserting the lenses, the Associated Press is reporting.
The recall, which started in Japan, does not affect supplies sold in the U.S. About 100,000 boxes are affected by the recall, according to the AP. Each box contains 30 or 90 lenses.
