Ducati recalls Multistrada 1200 cycles for engine stalls

Ducati is recalling certain Multistrada 1200 motorcycles because the vehicles could stall, posing a crash risk.

The recall affects 1,196 MTS 1200 motorcycles built between November 18, 2009 and July 28, 2010.

The Cupertino, CA-based American office of the Italian company says that it received customer feedback pointing to “downshifting or maneuvering with the clutch disengaged and the engine at idle” as the cause of a possible engine stall.

Ducati owners are expected to be notified later this month, and dealers will update the fuel map in the electronic control unit at no charge.

Owners may contact Ducati North America at 1-800-231-6696.
