About 2,100 snow bikes — which combine a snowboard-like rear ski with the steering of a BMX bike on the front ski — are being recalled because the front ski can crack or break, causing the snow bike to stop and posing a fall hazard to children. Three consumers fell and sustained injuries, including a cut requiring stitches and a dislocated shoulder.
The recall affects OUTER EDGE brand Snow MX-Ski-Doo and the Snow MX-X Games snow bikes, made by Tech 4 Kids, Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario.

The snow bikes were sold at various sporting goods stores and retailers, including Costco, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com from September 2010 through January 2011 for about $150.
The bikes feature a steel frame, a kick bar to do tricks, a twin tip board with metal edges, and a safety leash system.
Consumers should not use the products and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. Consumers may contact Tech 4 Kids at 1-866-287-4761.
